Customers say
Customers appreciate the value for money and appearance of the product. They mention it’s a nice looking birdhouse and the holes are quite big. However, some customers have reported that the wood is split and splintered. They also dislike the size, paint run, and perch. Opinions are mixed on the quality.

ideal size
Cheap and cheerful but sturdily made. Arrived already assembled so have put them straight on the fence are ideal size.

okay for the price
fairly standard preassembled small bird boxes. they were unfinished wood and needed sanding which is fine. the staining on the roof runs when wet which isnât ideal.

Not fit for intended use
I bought 2 of these and immediately returned for a refund, for the following reasons :
1. Internal dimensions should be minimum 120mm x 150mmv (RSPB)
2. The base should have a number of small drilled holes to aid drainage (RSPB)
3. The use of an external perch is not recommended as this potentially will assist vermin to enter the box (RSPB)
4. Box is made from poor quality untreated wood ( only lid is stained)
The boxes supplied did not comply with any of the above and thus, in my opinion, they are not fit for purpose.

Get what you pay for!
These really are cheap tat. I don’t honestly know what I was expecting. The lid has already snapped off, only attached with tiny screws. No holes were drilled in the back for mounting. If you do manage to mount them to the wall/shed/tree, they then haven’t left enough space for the lid to hinge open. And also, we put ours up, after creating a hole and making a spacer for between the house and the shed, and I have come home to find after some light drizzle, the paint has run! They are definitely not treated and probably not worth the effort I have put in to them. I’m sure I will be replacing them within the next few months. Avoid if you can, unless you don’t mind the hassle for the price!

The bird box is easy to place in a tree.
However, in the picture there is a bird perch but no perch or stick found in either this package or the previous package. I got a neighbour to make perches.
I liked the bird boxes so much, despite missing perches, that this is my 2nd order.
